Reporting to the Council, the CEO is the senior operations officer who ensures
the fair and effective functioning of the management and administrative
systems of all entities are essential to achieve the mandate(s) of the Heiltsuk
Tribal Council. Furthermore, the principal of protecting the inherent, aboriginal
rights of the Heiltsuk Tribal council must be the guiding force behind this
position, represent council in the public meetings are required.
The Chief Executive Officer shall be responsible for the strategic plan and
operational affairs of the Heiltsuk Tribal Council.
Responsibilities:

Serve as Representative role to HTC. HIRDM.,HESL, Hailcistut, Shearwater
-
Provides status reports and advice as required or requested to Chief and
-
Council on all matters pertaining to the management and administration of
-
the Heiltsuk Tribal council and entities in program and funding area
-
Monthly meetings with all leadership where all finance and workplans are to
-
be revealed.

Coordinates an annual planning process, including the budgetary cycle, to
-
ensure there are clear and relevant priorities for each program every year.

Coordinates the strategic plan that includes all entities and the community.

Attend all meetings of boards of each entity.

Works with CFO to ensure that all accounts are balanced on a monthly,
-
quarterly, and yearly basis to be presented to Council.

Reports to Council on all funding agreements

The Chief Executive Officer shall be responsible for the strategic plan and

Ensures that all financial decisions and actions are consistent with the

directives and policies as outlined in the Financial Administrative Law
-
Ensures consistent compliance with the approved budgets and funding
-
criteria.

Ensures there are effective monitoring and reporting systems and that these

are used consistently and responsibly.
